You are invited to attend the Greyton Conservation Society AGM on Thursday, 20 July 2017 to be held at the Greyton Bowling Club at 17.30 for 18.00.

Baboon Matters

Our guest speaker Jenni Trethowan of Baboon Matters will give some insight into the potential success of the six-month trial Greyton Baboon Management Programme due to start this month.

As baboons move ever further into Greyton we need to know how to handle this new situation. Jenni will detail experiences of her work across the Western Cape imparting valuable information, which may help us avoid some of the worst problems associated with a baboon presence. There will also be a Q&A session.

Market rebuild feedback

Will we be ready for the Rose Fair? GCS chairman, Andrew White, will give us an update on the market rebuild. We will also touch briefly on the new Zoning Scheme about to be implemented including Greyton’s long-waited Overlay, which will nurture and preserve Greyton’s unique character.

The AGM will be followed by snacks and a cash bar will be available.

Please join us for an informative and fun evening.

Mike Roscoe is making good progress above Nel’s Property and he would like to organise a hack to cut the aliens out of the valley below the waterfall. He is getting assistance from the Baboon monitoring staff who are achieving good results and Cape Nature are giving positive indications to cutting above the water fall.
Those that can please meet at 7hr00 at the shed.
